About this Event
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community center run by artists, creators, and education professionals, dedicated to building cooperative, community-led systems of care and support.
We just recently moved into our new space in East Oakland, and look forward to our first "Ugly Art" party of the year! We’ll be experimenting without fear and tossing perfection right into the trash where it belongs. When we try too hard, we get stuck.
The goal? To be with community, even if you’re not the most social or extroverted, in a relaxing backyard setting where you can feel safe to simply be.
No pressure. No judgment. Just a space to play, create, and connect.
📅 Date & Time: Saturday, April 11, 1-4pm
📍 Location: 1034 E 21st St, Oakland, CA 94606
👜 Bring: Yourself, any art supplies you tend to neglect or want to give away/share. Feel free to bring snacks for yourself, there's also a great coffee shop nextdoor with plenty of coffee and snack options!
Our mission is to serve the community by offering free art events, college preparedness workshops (including help with financial aid and other resources), potty training workshops, and postpartum doula services.
We believe in creating spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can learn, connect, and grow. With additional funding, we hope to expand our programs and reach even more members of our community in the future.
