About this Event
The opening event will take place at the Omnibus Theatre Common Room.
The artist, Sophie Hing Yee Cheung, will present a performative reading of the Disabilities CV Questionnaire* that she was first set for the poetry writing class in 2013. This will be followed up by a workshop where participants can join the artist in repurposing and recreating plastic household objects.
During this event, you will have an opportunity to explore the artist’s journey of discovery and inspiration as she deepens her understanding of human nature and navigates new artistic possibilities such as the transformative potential of plastics, drawing from her experience in human rights advocacy.
An interactive Q&A session and networking opportunities will be included during this event.
We would greatly appreciate it if, for any reason, you cannot attend during your scheduled slot, please change your booking, cancel or email us at least 24 hours prior to the time of your original booking.

*The questionnaire is based on her book published in 2015, ‘Disabilities CV: The Stories of the Persons with Psycho-social Disability in Hong Kong’ 殘疾資歷:香港精神障礙者文集. This publication examines and re-conceptualises the multi-faceted meanings of disability, and the disability experience, in an attempt to effect a paradigm shift towards social inclusion, challenging the dichotomous and dialectical relation between disablement and normal; professionals and the general public; barriers and resources.
