Tuesday Weekly West Coast Swing Classes - Birmingham

We bring you weekly West Coast Swing Class taught by James Bartlett, right in the heart of Birmingham City Centre at the stunning CDOB studio in the Jewellery Quarter.
Supported by 'EastonSwing and many local dancers working to build the WCS community in the Midlands and UK as a whole.
West Coast Swing is a modern swing dance based on traditional roots in Jazz, Swing and Blues that has evolved with the trends in culture, into a smooth slotted dance that continues to grow ever more popular.
What makes WCS so appealing to get into:
Firstly it can be danced to many different musical genres such as RnB, hip hop, contemporary beats, blues and jazz, to many songs you may recognize but is a slow enough pace that the dance feels smooth and very connected with your partner.
Secondly, it's the most fun social dance on the planet, not just socially (we like a good party) but physically too! It sure beats the gym.
Lastly, in contrast to many other dances, it allows for two people to improvise whilst still dancing together. It is very conversational in how the lead and follow works which is what makes West Coast Swing so much fun to dance!
Classes are for new and experienced dancers. No partner or previous experience is required, everyone is welcome to join. Our classes are non-gender specific, meaning you can dance as lead or follow, or both, whichever you prefer.
