Little Jazz is led by Tanja and Kay, two passionate Lindy Hop teachers who love music, movement, and fun. Their classes are energetic, musical, and focused on equal connection between partners—always with plenty of smiles.
In this taster class Tanja and Kay will take inspiration from shapes and rhythms of Solo Jazz and blend them into Lindy Hop. No partner is needed and all levels are welcome, though we do expect you to know the basics of Lindy Hop.
Swing Doctors from Tampere spread the joy of danceable swing music as a ten-person big band! Under the direction of bandleader Marko Aho, Swing Doctors perform classics from the Great American Songbook, Count Basie–style instrumentals, and Finnish swing-era hits that are guaranteed to fill the dance floor. The band features the wonderful vocalist Piia Kristiina.
Acoustic Dixie Six, founded in Helsinki in 1999, has established itself as a true ambassador of traditional New Orleans jazz. With its wide-ranging repertoire, this sextet brings to life the timeless melodies of swing, blues, ragtime, and Charleston — much to the delight of dancers. AD6 has performed extensively across Finland, toured international dixieland festivals throughout Europe, and is set to embark on a Japan tour in March 2026.
During the band breaks Tuesday Night Hop DJs will keep the dance floor swinging.
Tuesday Night Hop is a weekly event dedicated to swing music and dance, originally African-American art forms that became popular during the swing era in 1930-1940. This event is co-produced by Tuesday Night Hop and The Finnish Classic Jazz Society (Suomen Perinnejazz ry).
