Through My Eyes, The Past, Present and Future of the Otago Peninsula This June, the Otago Settlers Association’s Tuesday Club welcomes Otakou local, ecologist and conservationist, Hoani Langsbury, discussing the history of the Otago Peninsula.
The Otago Peninsula is a long finger of land that extends approximately 20 kilometres out into the Pacific Ocean. Originally formed by a large shield volcano and then shaped by wind, weather, tide and time, it has become a treasured environment that is home to wildlife, introduced species and humans alike.
Be taken on an oral journey through the recent times of the Otago Peninsula, from early arrivals around 1350ad to the present. Home to humans and wildlife alike!
This event begins with refreshments and an opportunity to chat with Otago Settlers Association members.
