Join us for a powerful evening as we screen TRIUMPH, a documentary uncovering a pivotal yet often overlooked chapter of the Civil Rights Movement right here in Tampa.Set in 1960s Florida, the film tells the story of a courageous group of Black high school students who organized peaceful sit-ins at a downtown lunch counter - sparking a movement that helped desegregate restaurants, theaters, pools, and beaches across the city. Through firsthand accounts and archival footage, TRIUMPH brings to life the voices of young people whose actions created lasting change in their community and beyond.
Following the screening, we’ll host a conversation to reflect on the film and its continued relevance today.
