Truly amazing and deeply moving, this is a "not to be missed" cinematic experience. Set in 1941 German-occupied Poland, the film follows St. Maximilian Kolbe and his companions as they triumph over the darkness of Auschwitz.
After an escape occurs, SS guards select ten prisoners to be starved to death as punishment. Father Kolbe volunteers to take the place of a family man who pleaded with the guards for mercy. He endures the starvation bunker for two weeks, providing solace and prayer to the other men until he is one of the last left alive.
As he nears death, news of his actions and those of the other men spreads across the camp, providing light and dignity in the worst of places. In a world rife with division and conflict, Triumph of the Heart serves as a universal appeal for goodness, faith, and humanity.
