About this Event
Trauma Sensitive Yoga (Self Compassion and Loving Kindness)
Gift yourself for an hour of slow, steady and grounding movement. Journeying through a selection of mindful movement shapes, we will explore deep relaxation inner stillness and peace, and arrive (hopefully!) at a space of self-compassion and loving kindness.
We are all increasingly aware that we carry experiences of stress and trauma in our bodies, which impacts our health and wellbeing. Learning how to still the body and mind and show ourselves loving kindness is vital to healing the soul wounds many of us carry.
This class focuses on exploring how our bodies feel (not how they look), noticing sensations, and making movement choices that work for us.
No experience of Yoga is required - just a body and an open mind. Come as you are.
Embodiment (feeling present in our bodies) can be challenging when we have experienced body based trauma, and I am not a therapist. If you have any questions or worries about this class, please contact me before booking
About me -
My name is Ella, and I am excited to be able to offer you four weeks of trauma sensitive, yoga classes. This is a slow, relaxing practice, with breath awareness.
I feel passionately that we could all benefit with feeling more connected to our bodies. The world we live in encourages disconnection from feeling in our hearts and our bodies. When we experience trauma, this disconnection can feel safe, but as we journey out of trauma and into growth, reconnecting with our bodies can help us to heal.
I am trained in Vinyasa Yoga (200hr), Chair Yoga (32 hr), and Trauma Sensitive Yoga Nidra. I have 8 years’ experience working with women impacted by Domestic Violence.
