About this Event
Discover the material language of glass at this special talk with Studio Sahil, an award-winning London-based design studio founded by Rezzan Hasoglu.
Working at the intersection of craft, cultural heritage and material innovation, the studio is best known for its distinctive hand-blown glassware infused with sand sourced from landscapes around the world- each piece capturing unique textures, patterns and stories. Alongside glass, Studio Sahil’s wider practice spans jewellery, textiles and sculptural installations created in collaboration with global partners
Rezzan Hasoglu, a TEDx speaker and member of the Homo Faber Guide, brings her research-driven approach to both design and education. Studio Sahil has exhibited internationally across leading design and craft platforms, including Venice Glass Week (2022, 2023 and 2025, supported by the British Council Festivals Grant), Detroit Design Week (2025), Decorex (2021), NY NOW with Kollektif (2021), and Milan Design Week, where the studio was named one of six finalist winners of the Lexus Design Award (2019). Notable solo exhibitions include Coastal Myths at London Design Festival (2022) and Artisans in Istanbul (2015). Permanent works include Verrier, a sculpture installed at Hart Shoreditch, London (2023). Earlier exhibitions include New Craft at Triennale (2016), Experiments and Prototypes at Aram Gallery (2017), and the Royal College of Art Graduate Show (2017).
