Trans Community Night

DCATS Trans Community Nights are twice-yearly gatherings for trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse people across the DMV to come together, connect, and celebrate community.

These events are designed to be welcoming, social, and low-pressure, with space to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and spend time together in a trans-centered environment. Whether you’re new to DCATS or deeply rooted in the community, there’s a place for you here.

This event is for trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse people.

• Trans attendees are always welcome
• Non-trans people may attend only as a guest of a trans attendee
• Anyone who is not trans and arrives without a trans guest will be asked to leave

Specific details vary by event and will be shared on the Partiful event page, but Trans Community Nights generally include:

• Indoor and outdoor spaces to gather and socialize
• Music throughout the evening
• Food in a potluck format
• • DCATS will provide some food
  • Attendees are encouraged (but not required) to bring a dish or beverage to share
• Indoor and outdoor games and activities
• An outdoor vending market featuring trans-owned businesses
• Time to connect, hang out, and enjoy being in community
• No pets are allowed at this event.

Trans Community Nights are invite-only and managed through Partiful.

Once you receive an invite to one Trans Community Night, you’ll be able to RSVP for future Community Nights without reapplying.

Trans Community Nights are invite-only and managed through Partiful. You can get access in one of the following ways:

• If you’re a transmasculine person in DC, Maryland, or Virginia:
  Join the DCATS WhatsApp Community, where the Partiful link is shared in the Announcements thread.
  If you’re not already in the group, you can text 202-240-7535 to request access and complete brief vetting questions.
• Know someone attending?
  They can share the Partiful link with you directly.
• Not on WhatsApp and don’t have a link yet?
  Complete the Eventbrite registration and answer all custom questions. Once reviewed, we’ll email you a Partiful invite.
  If it’s been more than a few days and you haven’t heard back, email .

This event takes place at a private residence with both indoor and outdoor areas.

• 5 steps to enter the main front door
• Dogs live in the home (not present during the event, but dog hair may be present)
• If you use a service animal, please inquire in advance
• Bathrooms:
• Main-level bathroom with 25” doorway
• Basement bathroom with 30” doorway
• ASL interpretation may be available if requested in advance via Partiful
