Ready to start running, but don't know where to begin?
Most new runners over 35 start with a specific goal in mind—better health, weight loss, or finally crossing a 5K finish line. But going it alone can be tough. At MyOutdoorJoy, we’ve joined forces with local experts and coaches to guide you through a supportive 10-week walk/run progression program specifically designed for those with limited or no running experience.
What You’ll Gain:
- Expert Coaching: Weekly instructor-led sessions covering proper form, breathing techniques, and gear selection.
- Accountability: A community of new running buddies at your skill level to keep you motivated.
- Exploration: We’ll rotate through different local greenways to build stamina on various terrains and explore the Charlotte area.
- Gradual Progress: A sustainable 10-week commitment that prioritizes your health and prevents injury.
The Schedule: Sessions meet once per week for 40 minutes plus stretching. You’ll be encouraged to complete two additional walks/jogs on your own or with classmates during the week.
- Kick-off: Sunday, April 19 @ 3:30 PM (Mallard Creek Greenway)
- Weekly Progression: April 19 – June 14 (Dates/times vary, see full schedule on our website)
- Finale: Week 10 Celebration Run!

Pricing:
- Non-Members: $150 (Full Series)
- Shared Members: $97.50 (Full Series)
- Premier Members: Free
