About this Event
Come "virtually" to the wintry bakehouse in Vermont this holiday season and join us from the warmth of your home for a special class devoted to the most iconic and beloved European holiday specialties. In this class we focus on traditional Stollen and introduce you to some Stollen variations.
We will talk about the roots, history and serving traditions of Stollen and share important tips and techniques on how to make an authentic and successful Stollen bread at home.
Stollen making and especially shaping will be demoed with a traditional recipe and we'll talk about special considerations when baking these holiday specialties.
While much of the class will be demo style you will have the opportunity to bake along part of the class if desired (you will receive our recipes in time to prepare for class). We end the class with a Q&A where you can ask all your questions.
This class is open to everybody who is curious about this iconic bread and its variations, but will be particularly interesting for bakers who are looking to advance their baking skills, and those who love making European holiday specialties in their most traditional form. Some baking experience is helpful, as the demo will go at a certain pace - we recommend watching live first and use the recording to bake at your leisure.
The class is online via zoom and all recipes will be available before the class. The class will be recorded and made available online 24 hours after class date for home streaming. Price is per kitchen, so feel free to invite your family and friends to join you!
Join us online for a celebration of the rich history and traditions of the holiday season with these iconic holiday breads and get ready to bake for the most cherished season of the year.
