The efforts of the Instrumental teacher are most often isolated and teaching is for most of us a rather solitary activity, during which we are working with students either individually or within chamber groups without receiving feedback nor sharing ideas about our craft. "Towards building a community of string teachers" is a brainstorming session where all strings educators are invited to join forces and discuss effective ways on how we can sustain this community through the sharing of ideas, presentations, demonstrations and other tools. While the methodologies and aspirations of string pedagogues and teachers are unique and highly individualized, promoting dialogue and exchanging ideas will strengthen the future of string playing locally.
