About this Event
DO WHAT THOU WILT SHALL BE THE WHOLE OF THE LAW!
Toronto Thelema Field Trip: ()
Join Toronto Thelema for a unique and enriching field trip into the living current of another spiritual tradition: the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF).
We’ll be attending a free public lecture and guided meditation hosted by the Toronto Centre of SRF, featuring Brother Jayananda, a senior monastic and longtime minister of the Fellowship. Known for his clarity, warmth, and depth, Brother Jayananda will be sharing insights into Kriya Yoga, meditation, and the art of spiritual living.
This event offers a rare opportunity for us to engage directly with another initiatory current—one that, like Thelema, emphasizes personal experience of the divine. While Thelema, as articulated by Aleister Crowley, centers on discovering and accomplishing one’s True Will, the SRF path emphasizes Self-realization through disciplined meditation and union with the Divine. Both traditions, in their own language and symbols, point toward direct knowledge (gnosis) rather than blind belief.
Through this field trip, we aim to:
- Explore parallels between Thelemic True Will and SRF’s concept of the soul’s divine purpose
- Compare practices of meditation, devotion, and spiritual discipline
- Experience firsthand a different yet resonant approach to mystical realization
Whether you are curious about Kriya Yoga, interested in comparative spirituality, or simply looking to deepen your own practice, this is an excellent opportunity to learn, reflect, and connect.
Important: This is a free public event, but registration is required through the SRF Toronto Centre. Please register in advance using the link provided.
Come with an open mind, a respectful attitude, and a spirit of inquiry as we step, together, into another current of the Great Work.

As part of Adventures in the Occult: Field Trip Series, this visit approaches contemporary religious practice through a Thelemic lens, placing interfaith dialogue into conversation with the principles of Scientific Illuminism. We aim to cultivate understanding through direct experience — encountering devotion, discipline, community, and spiritual identity beyond theoretical study.
Our field trips encourage respectful observation, cultural learning, and expanded socio-religious awareness in pursuit of deeper initiation through lived encounter.
