Join us at Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC) for a screening of Elevator to the Gallows (1958), director Louis Malle’s stylish and suspenseful noir classic.
Blending crime, romance, and psychological tension, the film follows two lovers whose carefully planned M**der spirals into a night of unexpected consequences across the streets of Paris. Featuring a mesmerizing performance by Jeanne Moreau and an unforgettable improvised jazz score by Miles Davis, Elevator to the Gallows is widely regarded as one of the defining films of late-1950s European cinema.
Please try to arrive early to allow time to get settled and purchase snacks or drinks, which will be available for purchase. After the screening, guests are welcome to stay for an optional open discussion to share reflections and reactions.
