About this Event
Welcome to The Writer's Voice Workshop!
Do you find the idea of reading your work to an audience daunting? Fact: many authors don't take the time to prepare for this, which sucks because it's the most effective way of grabbing attention, not to mention selling books. The Writer's Voice Workshop is an opportunity to hone your skills (yes, there will be a microphone) and pick up some tips to make your next presentation less anxiety-provoking.
Hosted by author Matt Cahill. The event is PWYC.
What Are the Next Steps?
- Please register via Eventbrite (or you can contact me directly at [email protected]).
- Prepare to bring a short piece to workshop (3-5 mins). I will be in contact in order to get a copy of your work (this is solely for me to follow along when you present; I will delete works I've received after the workshop out of confidentiality).
- That's basically it.
Guidelines and Etiquette
This is a learning environment, where vulnerability and mistake-making are part of the process. Above all this will be a respectful environment, where writers of all walks and abilities will be supported. As such, I reserve the right to ask any attendee to leave if they are not willing to show respect toward their peers.
