Celebrate the timeless legacy of Frank Sinatra with John Alcorn and The Daniel Barnes Trio.
About this Event

With a career that spanned more than half a century, Frank Sinatra remains a towering figure in the world of music. Iconic hits like “My Way,” “Come Fly with Me,” and “Fly Me to the Moon” have become enduring classics, shaping the soundscape of early pop, swing, and jazz.

Born to Italian immigrants, Sinatra’s remarkable ‘rags to riches’ journey embodies the vitality and artistic spirit of Italian culture in post–World War II America. His voice, charisma, and influence continue to resonate across generations.

Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring acclaimed jazz vocalist John Alcorn and The Daniel Barnes Trio, as they revisit the timeless songs of ‘The Voice’ and pay tribute to one of the most iconic Italo-American artists of the twentieth century.

Performance includes a 15-minute intermission.

John Alcorn

John Alcorn is one of the best jazz vocalists in Canada. A singer, composer, lyricist, arranger, and producer, he has received many public accolades, including Toronto Star (“one of our finest interpreters of the ‘great American songbook’”), Jazz Report (Male Vocalist of the Year) and Dora (Outstanding Music) awards. In his music, John explores and reinterprets the work of iconic composers, lyricists, and singers that make the ‘American songbook’. His most recent recording, “Flying Without Wings,” featured an all-star Canadian trio – Reg Schwager (guitar), Mark Eisenman (piano), and Steve Wallace (bass) – along with New York great, Warren Vaché (cornet).

Daniel Barnes

Daniel Barnes is a drummer, composer, bandleader, and music producer. His list of collaborations in the jazz world is vast. Likewise, his experimentation with different music genres is broad ‘global’, as his combination of Ethiopian-Jazz Classics with Original Compositions with top ranking Ethiopian born saxophonist Mr. Girma Woldemichael demonstrates. His albums “Culmination” (2003) and “Classic Beauties” (2007) blend the warmth of the Jazz Classics with the brio of original compositions.
