🎬The Spook Who Sat by the Door is a radically political and explosive film adapted from the novel of the same name. Set against the backdrop of the Black Power movement, the film follows the CIA’s first Black agent, who, after completing rigorous training, applies his skills to organize a revolutionary movement in pursuit of Black liberation.🗣*Join us on Saturday, April 25th, following the 5:00 PM screening, for a post-film discussion with Doris Nomathandé Dixon (daughter of director Ivan Dixon) and Natiki Pressley (daughter of writer Sam Greenlee), who collaborated with the Library of Congress on the 4K restoration of this Black independent classic.
The evening will also feature a performance response by de’Angelo Dia and Olivia Dorsey Peacock.
