About this Event
THE SHADOW OF SISTERHOOD
This workshop will explore aspects of women relating with other women that we might not normally bring to conscious awareness, let alone express.
It will explore ways that the systems we live in have pitted us against one another and minimised our power - individually and collectively. As well as the light we might be hiding out of fear of judgment or persecution.
Karl Jung said: "The Shadow is 90% pure gold."
In our time together, we will explore the creativity, power, connection and life force that can be restored when we dare to enter the exiled parts of sisterhood.
If we are going to more more towards a matriarchal society, it is vital that women learn to come together in joyful shared power. This is the intention behind this workshop.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS WORKSHOP:
- A creative exploration of what the shadows of sisterhood might be.
- Embodied circle work that invites us to explore ranges of our expression we might typically shut off as women, particularly in the company of other women.
- Practices to complete incomplete relational dynamics with other women, even if the other woman is not present in room.
- Liberating places where we may be holding shame, in relation to ourselves as women, what has been done to us as women, and what we may have done to other women.
- Exploring our 'lighter' and more empowered ranges that may have historically felt unsafe around other women.
- Cultivating embodied safety with one another so that these edges can be gently eased into.
- A nervous system informed space that puts the body and capacity first.
- An emergent space that responds to the energy, needs and aliveness of the room as much as any given plan.
- A space to treat deep shadow work as joyful and playful, with space for humour.
Everything in this workshop is an invitation. You are invited to work with your edges, but also to honour your own personal boundaries and capacity and not take part in anything you don't want to.
