About this Event
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Body, mind and voice are a fusion. The way we use our body affects our voice – the way we feel affects our body – the way we move and speak affects our mind. We speak to change things outside ourselves: to deal with the situation; to offer help, gossip, friendship; to protect ourselves, to question, to answer. We may use our voices to entertain, instruct, inform.
As actors we may have to use it with prepared lines. We’ll look at all these aspects of voice. We’ll also work with breath, nerves and confidence. We’ll play with gestures and movements. Maybe we will use some texts.
Do you warm up? (it could be 20 minutes or two minutes – depending on the situation) Do you cool down? (So many of us forget this short but crucial step when we leave the stage) I look forward to our playing – finding different voice energies and emotions. And I will try to answer all your questions.
And I hope we’ll have fun!

PAY WHAT YOU CAN or PAY IT FORWARD:
Offering affordable training is at the heart of our charitable objectives. Though classes with our practitioners usually cost upwards of £30, we offer places at a pay-what-you-can rate. For some, this might mean paying 1p. For others, paying more means you’re covering our facilitators fee and staffing costs, making it possible for us to host future PWYC workshops seasons. We give a suggested figure of £15 for those who can.
Attendees must be 18+
