Edgar Allan Poe spent his most productive years in Philadelphia, and many have speculated that his tales may have been inspired by the graves and gardens of Laurel Hill. Newly opened when Poe took up residence in the city, the growing necropolis would draw in hundreds of visitors… surely, Poe could well have been among those curious souls?
