About this Event
Autumn | The Body is an Animal
If you are experiencing a desire for rich conversation, inspiring artistic practice and a re-enchantment of the wild world around us, join us within the Mycelium.
This Fall we invite you to a five-part workshop series exploring the Body as an Animal through the lens of embodied art.
Our culture of mental health and consciousness tends to begin with the psyche when trying to remedy suffering. What would it mean to start with the body? Approaching our “disorders” or struggles through our environments, habits, communities and experiences. What would it mean to re-wild, decivilize, decolonize our ways of being.
In this space we will be engaging in a myriad of artistic practices, from visual art to sculpture and movement. No previous art experience is required, but a willingness to be messy, wild and courageous is.
Whether you’re reconnecting with your inner power, healing ancestral wounds, or awakening your sensitivity to the earth’s rhythms; this is a space to weave your mind back into the bones of your animal body, and root deeply into the community that is wild and vibrant in our city.
