comprise the best young jazz musicians in Cheshire. The bands have previously worked with leading British jazz artists, including Nikki Iles, Dennis Rollins and Mike Walker, and taken part in Arts Council-funded projects commissioning new works for youth jazz ensembles. The bands have recently performed at the iconic Manchester Jazz Festival (below) and the Eastside Jazz Club in Birmingham (above), and taken part in two studio recordings of newly commissioned works and a Stevie Wonder project.

PERFORMERS
The Music for Life Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Band
offers young people opportunities to engage with inspirational music-making, teaching over 3,500 students each week across more than 130 schools. Recently, we have been awarded the 'Music Not-for-Profit Organisation of the Year 2025–26' in recognition of the fantastic work undertaken in schools under the Music for Life banner.
provide high-quality music-making experiences for young people aged 7–18. Meeting monthly on a Saturday at Cransley School, there are different options designed to suit a full range of ages and abilities, providing an enjoyable challenge and an exciting experience for everyone. Alongside our in-school activities, we heavily invest in the Saturday Ensembles to ensure everyone can access them for free. As well as the Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Band, we also organise an Orchestra, Folk Band and Music for Life Rocks!
