About this Event

The Migration Menu: Live from Edinburgh with Tony Singh at Kalpna

Join us for a vibrant in‑person event featuring celebrity chef Tony Singh, in conversation with Luke Heslop and James Staples, co‑hosts of The Migration Menu podcast. Part of PeopleFest 2026, the Association of Social Anthropologists’ Public Anthropology Festival, this special live event explores how people and food have migrated from South Asia to the UK — and how those journeys shape the dishes we love today.

We’ll gather at Kalpna, an iconic Edinburgh vegetarian and vegan Indian restaurant for more than four decades, for a morning of stories, food (included in the ticket price), and discussion. Enjoy our conversation with Tony Singh over shared bites, and take part in an open Q&A with the hosts.

Come hungry for ideas (and snacks).

Any questions/queries, please email James & Luke at [email protected]
