Delivered with flair by an ex-professional theatre Actor, turned expert history Writer and highly rated Tour Guide, your "The Life and Times of Shakespeare Tour" will certainly be memorable! Visit the two locations of Shakespeare’s London homes, the site of the Globe’s long forgotten sister, the Blackfriars Theatre, and a little-known monument created from one of Shakespeare’s most iconic speeches, among other gems that nestles within our fair city.
You’ll see the spot where it’s believed he penned Othello, King Lear and Macbeth and as you explore, you’ll discover more about his troubled personal life, and hear some of his sublime speeches, spoken with verve. Combining scholarly expertise with thespian pizzazz, there’s no better way to explore the life of the Bard in the capital.
This informative walk Revisits Shakespeare's life on the North bank of the Thames (we do not go to the Globe Theatre because everybody tends to do that separately). If you want to find out more about Shakespeare's real life (including his friends, relationships etc), while visiting the more interesting hidden parts of London, then this is the Tour for you. Even better, your guide Declan, (as previously mentioned), is a former professional actor and will treat you to some of Shakespeare's speeches in the appropriate locations.
(Please note that this tour does not visit the Globe Theatre. Also please note that Declan believes Shakespeare wrote the plays and does not believe the theory that somebody else wrote them.)
Meeting point, entrance to Blackfriars Underground Station.
