About this Event
On February 3, 2023 a train derailed in a small town in Ohio causing havoc and raising questions. The following week more industrial accidents began a conversation regarding industrial fallout and the toll it takes on both nature and neighbors alike.
The piece "Trainwreck" by Althea Jones has been in the works since early 2023 and is nearing completion. During a 48 hour lock-in at Curated Storefront in Akron, Ohio, Althea will complete the piece by hand sewing a perfect grid into the existing collage representing the perameters of percieved perfection that we attempt to use to correct the chaos we create.
20 Art Friends are invited intp the space during the final hour of the excercise to participate in a hands on rolling of the piece that will reveal its final form and possible destruction.
