In the Jebena Workshop, participants will learn the art of crafting these unique coffee pots using air dry clay and explore the rich history behind them. It's a creative and collaborative experience that brings people together, and participants get to put their own spin on this timeless tradition! There wil be refreshments served as well.
About our instructer: Betiel is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto, working in ceramics, acrylics, and mixed media. Her Eritrean heritage deeply influences her diverse body of work, reflecting a vibrant blend of cultural themes and contemporary techniques. Central to her practice is the teaching and creation of the Jebena, a traditional clay coffee pot, which serves as both a personal and cultural exploration.
