About this Event
Featuring The Green Room Tapes, a collaborative musical ensemble founded by a group of young musician friends from Kolkata, India, focusing mostly on Indian classical fusion, particularly ghazals, filmy and instrumental music.
We additionally invite you to share your unique musical/spoken word expressions at the open mic here!

Green Room Tapes is a band originally from Kolkata, India, since 2016. They specialize in creating a sound deeply rooted in Hindustani classical music, where they mainly perform their original compositions, semi-classical music, Ghazals, and Bollywood music. Ghazals have had a long-standing influence in shaping their music; hence, ghazals play a predominant role in their performances.

Shruthi Box Studios is a grassroots, artist-run studio and performance space in Chicago dedicated to uplifting South Asian and underrepresented artists. Founded in 2024, the organization provides affordable access to high-quality recording, mixing, rehearsal, and performance opportunities.
