In an extraordinary career spanning fifty years in the music industry, Cid went from singing backup with rock ‘n roll luminaries such as Elton John, Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart to having nine critically acclaimed solo albums featuring appearances by Bonnie Raitt, Bryan Adams and Emmylou Harris to performing his solo show Somewhere Between: Not An Ordinary Life.
Born Cindy Bullens in Boston, Massachusetts, this young electric guitar player yearned to be a rock ‘n roll star, startling the music industry with their Mick Jagger lips and moves, raw crafty songs, and wild spirit. Cindy always felt like they were living in the wrong body. But there were no viable options for them at the time.
Finally in 2011, Cindy became Cidny, making the daunting decision to transition from female to male, not knowing what the personal or professional response would be. Cid’s coming out article portrays his difficult decision and experience.

In 2018 Cid was featured in the documentary "Invisible: Gay Women in Southern Music." Cid’s story so impressed the director that he made an award-winning documentary short called The Gender Line, which screened at over 25 film festivals around the world in 2019-20.
Cid’s struggles and triumphs as a musician and a mother are relatable and powerful; his story is an inspiring example of self-discovery and self-love.
