Join us in making films more inclusive and representative at our second annual #TheFilmFestival. The Film Festival is South Dakota’s first-ever local film festival created by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. We are proud to provide a platform that celebrates the creativity, talent, and voices of individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
We welcome film submissions from around the world that showcase stories by, about, or featuring people with disabilities and rare diseases. Our passionate team is dedicated to empowering individuals to share their experiences, perspectives, and artistry — all on the BIG screen!
For films to have a chance at being screened, a person with a disability and/or rare disease must have a major role in the production process, either in front of or behind the camera. As long as the film meets these criteria, the festival is open for anyone to submit.
What Can I Expect at ‘The Film Festival’?
Films, of course! You’ll see the very best from filmmakers with disabilities and rare diseases in the region and around the world. You will have a chance to hear them talk about their films, ask questions and meet them in person.
