About this Event
A candlelit, half-day sanctuary for people who need to step out of the pace of modern life.
We spend so much of our lives holding our breath. Waiting for the next task, the next meeting, the next version of ourselves to arrive.
Our Enchanted Chai Sanctuary is where you finally get to exhale.
Not a workshop or a self-improvement session. It’s a small, candlelit pocket outside of modern life where the sticky chai stays warm, the clocks soften, and you’re invited to be human again.
No pressure.
No fixing.
No performance.
Just arrival.
Before You Arrive
You’re invited to come as cosy as you like.
Think:
- oversized jumpers
- soft layers
- onesies, if that’s your thing
- fluffy socks or slippers
If you’re coming straight from work, there will be time to change. Changing out of your day is part of the ritual.
The Journey: The Silly & The Sublime
Our half-day sanctuary unfolds slowly, with space to rest, wander and play.
I. The Ritual: Alchemy of the Kettle
We begin by brewing sticky chai together. Whole spices, rising steam, warmth in the hands. A gentle threshold between the world you’ve stepped out of and the sanctuary you’ve entered.
II. The Sublime: The Unpolished Self
On scattered floor cushions in soft light, we explore the relief of being imperfectly perfect. With gentle, optional journaling prompts, you’re invited to meet the version of yourself that doesn’t need to be super polished, productive or impressive.
III. The Silly: Creating Your Dreamscape
We end with playful creativity. Cutting, pasting and dreaming, you’ll begin to blueprint your own Cosy Corner, a sanctuary you can recreate at home. You’ll also craft your own bespoke sticky chai blend to name and take with you: a small portal back to this feeling.
The Close
We finish slowly.
Conversation drifts or doesn’t.
Guests will get
A candlelit, half-day sanctuary for people who need to step out of the pace of modern life.
We spend so much of our lives holding our breath. Waiting for the next task, the next meeting, the next version of ourselves to arrive.
Our Enchanted Chai Sanctuary is where you finally get to exhale.
This is escapism of the gentlest kind.
Not running away, just stepping sideways for a while.
Leave a little softer.
Guests should bring
Two old interior magazines that they love to share and cut up to create your dreamscape, cosy clothing such as oversized jumpers or PJs to change into, and cosy socks or slippers.
Agenda
Arrival · The Soft Landing
Info: You arrive into our candlelit lounge and are invited to take off your shoes, hang your coat, and exhale. The pace immediately slows. Soft lighting, cushions, and the gentle scent of spices signal that you’ve stepped somewhere different. There’s nothing to do yet, just arrive.
The Tea Ritual · Alchemy of the Spices
Info: We begin with a slow, sensory chai-making ritual. Whole spices are warmed, stirred, and steeped. Hands wrap around mugs as steam rises. This simple act becomes a threshold, a quiet boundary between the world you’ve left behind and the softness you’ve entered.
The Pause · Journaling & Presence
Info: Settled on scattered cushions, you’re offered gentle prompts and blank pages. You may write, doodle, daydream, or simply sit. There is no sharing unless you wish. This is time to listen inwardly and meet yourself without expectation.
The Silly & the Sublime · Creating Your Dreamscape
Info: With old magazines you've brought with you, textures, and images, you’re invited to play. We gently “blueprint” your own cosy corner, a dreamscape of softness, warmth, and rest. It’s light, imaginative, and grounding, reminding you that comfort is something you’re allowed to create.
The Craft · Sticky Chai Creation
Info: You create your own bespoke sticky chai blend using our enchanted spice bar. Grinding, blending, and filling your tin becomes a meditative act. You’ll name your creation, a reminder of this feeling to take home with you. We name ours Snooze, Snug and Homely.
