Pia Dunne has been performing professionally as a singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and band leader for over twenty years and has had the pleasure of sharing a stage with such diverse acts as Aslan, Sinead O'Connor, Radio Tarifa, Wally Page, MC Soom T and the cream of Ireland’s jazz musicians. She has regularly toured the Irish festival circuit and played across Ireland, the UK and Scandanavia.
Recently returned from living, performing and studying in Finland, Denmark and Haiti, Pia has a Master in Global Music (RAMA and Sibellius), and a degree in Jazz Performance. She is a well-known improviser and vocalist in the Irish Jazz Scene.
Pia Dunne released her Debut EP in May 2012 to much acclaim with nominations for Best Female Artist, Best Unsigned Artist and Best Album and was shortlisted for Best Soul/Jazz Act in The MRU Music Awards 2012. She performs regularly in many different projects including Pia Dunne and the Eleusians, the Pia Dunne Quartet and the Strawgods. She has composed for and sang with Big Bands and has had numerous previous releases. Her album is due for release later this year.
Pia will be joined by Johnny Taylor (piano), Derek Whyte (bass), and Matthew Jacobson (drums).
