Ben Shutz Up & Playz
Enjoy an afternoon of all original compositions by guitarist Ben Prevo - ably assisted by Dominic Mullan on drums, Sean Maynard Smith on 5 string Citron bass and keyboardist Maja Elliot. Although not specifically versed in the traditional jazz idiom, Ben's pieces draw elements from blues, country, jazz and more and have plenty of space for improvisation and surprises.
Also on the night, an opening set from Maja Elliot playing her original music.

Ben is a guitarist and vocalist, originally from New York, who has combined his influences of country, rock, jazz, blues & psychedelia into an unique melange. The material is varied — vocal and instrumental selections – covers and original compositions – all delivered with integrity and soul.Over the past 20 years he has created a name as one of Dublin's most repected blues guitarists.
Maja Elliott is a pianist, singer and composer. After concert piano studies at the Guildhall School of Music in London she performed worldwide in numerous genres and settings including the spoken word. Her music incorporates classical, modern jazz, ethnic music and improvisation. She has been featured on Lyric FM on the Blue of the Night.
