About this Event
Join us for an exciting evening of words and conversation with Shubnum Khan discussing her South African Gothic novel, The Djinn Waits a Hundred Years, with Reeese bookclub pick author Bolu Babalola to celebrate the launch of her UK debut.
There will be an opportunity to purchase books and have them signed.
Drinks and snacks will be available to buy from our wonderful hosts at Root25, with all profits going to Restless Beings.
Preceeding the book launch, Shubnum will be delivering a creative writing workshop on the themes of love and resistance in the face of oppression, and the power of language and belief.
The workshop and book launch can be booked separately or together, and all profit from ticket sales will be donated to Restless Beings for their work in Palestine, Lebanon and Sudan.
This event is organised by the School of Design and supported by Root25.
