About this Event
You are invited to join this seminary lecture on 17th June 2026 discussing one of societal challenges for the church. This lecture is intended for pastors and those preparing for ministry, but others may be interested and welcome to join us.
The pursuit of 'Net Zero' is at the heart of political debate today. While Christians have a range of views on the degree and causes of global warming, we need to be aware of the danger of Climate Alarmism. Not only does it present a view of the world at odds with Biblical principles, it may also threaten Christian unity as decarbonisation efforts are promoted as of primary significance.
Dr Paul Mills is Chairman of the Jubilee Centre. His background is in financial economics, having worked for HM Treasury and IMF (including on carbon trading markets). Dr Mills will also speak positively about the application of Biblical principles to economics.
The format of the day will go as follows :
- 9:45 am - Tea/Coffee
- 10:00 am – arrival
- 10:20 am – 1:00 pm (lectures with a break)
- 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (lunch*)
