About this Event
Do you go ouch when you read a restaurant wine list? It’s not surprising, as wine prices have gone up by 40% since 2020. With the second cheapest wine regularly topping £40, scanning a list can be an eye-watering experience. Even restaurateurs say they’re fed up with expensive wine. So, what are the reasons behind the rise? Where can you find the best value? The Standard’s restaurant critic David Ellis will quiz a panel of sommeliers, restaurant owners and wine buyers. Each will bring a wine they think is a winning pick from their list - and you’ll get to taste them.
