About this Event
The Connected Conversation is a storytelling and communication workshop led by writer and producer Amon Focus at the New York Public Library. Amon is a cultural journalist and the creator of New York Said, a storytelling project featuring hundreds of interviews with artists, thinkers, and everyday New Yorkers.
In this class, you’ll explore how to ask better questions, listen with intention, and build genuine dialogue. You’ll learn how to get on the same page with a stranger, colleague, friend, or loved one by identifying the goal of a conversation, recognizing their passion points, and becoming a student of the person you’re speaking with. Ideal for anyone interested in creating a podcast, documentary, or writing articles and profiles, this class gives you the tools to capture the insights that make your work stronger, more human, and most importantly, in your own voice.
Please be aware this workshop requires punctuality. Once the workshop has begun there will be no late entry nor re-entry if exiting. Thank you.
