About this Event
Come to this camp create a fortress and a precision engine with your team Through the exploration of the fascinating history of legends like Nicola de la Haye, who successfully defended Lincoln Castle in 1217, students will:
- Engage in a hands-on project designed to make their own Custom Citadel and Launch Engine. Students will work in "Guilds" to solve the ultimate engineering puzzle
- Learn about the rich history of mythological and historical fortifications, from the concentric walls of Crusader castles to the high-tech bunkers of the modern era, discovering how humans have used geometry to survive against overwhelming force.
- Use architectural principles to take a 2D blueprint to a 3D structural model. Students will transition from sketching "Stress Maps" to physical construction, learning how arches, domes, and buttresses distribute kinetic energy to prevent catastrophic failure.
- Learn 2D Design software to create aspects of their tactical engines and fortress details.
- Fabricating Laser cut parts from wood for construction
