About this Event
Join us for The Business of Art, an engaging conversation designed for creatives and musicians who want to better understand the financial side of their work.
This event brings together two unique perspectives at the intersection of art and finance. Valarie Sheppard, retired Treasurer and Controller of Procter & Gamble and founder of Legacy Soundworks Recording Studio, offers deep expertise in financial leadership and a passion for supporting creatives. She is joined by Ixi Chen, clarinetist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and founder of Music360, who brings firsthand experience navigating both the artistic and business sides of a creative career.
Together, they will share insights on managing finances, building sustainability, and making informed decisions in todayβs arts landscape.
The evening begins with a networking hour from 5:00β6:00 PM, with food and beverages provided, followed by the conversation and presentation from 6:00β7:00 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow creatives, ask questions, and gain practical knowledge they can apply immediately.
In-person tickets are $10 per person, which includes food and drinks during the networking hour.
A simultaneous live broadcast via Zoom is available for free for those who prefer to attend virtually.
All in-person attendees will also receive access to a tour of Legacy Soundworks Recording Studio (date to be announced).
