The Besnard Lakes with The Hausplants

Formed in 2003 by husband and wife duo Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas in Montreal’s Mile End: a young burgeoning scene of artists and musicians enjoying low rent in the early 2000s. Meeting Kevin Laing in 2004 at a recording session, he would agree to become the band’s long-time drummer and anchor. Sheenah Ko (keys, vocals and vibes) and Gabriel Lambert (guitars), round out the powerhouse that makes this band a thing to behold in a live setting, widely regarded as an ethereal and otherworldly live musical experience.In the last 20-plus years of music-making and touring, they’ve released multiple studio albums and EPs, been nominated 3 times for the Polaris Prize, been featured in Mojo and Uncut magazines, performed on Jimmy Fallon, and received widespread critical acclaim for their meticulous long-form psychedelic musical experiences.

The Hausplants are an independent trio from ‘Vancouver’ Canada. Formed by Iran-born Amir Alav (guitar), Mongolia-born Sondor Mendbayar (drums/synth) and US-born Anna Zeleny (vocals/bass/synth). The Hausplants have independently released two EPs and have beeh featured in Pop Fantasia, The Georgia Straight, Side Line Magazine, and played on KEXP, NPR, CJSF, CKUA, CJSW and CiTR. In 2026 The Hausplants were recognized as one of "10 Vancouver music acts to watch in 2026" by the Vancouver Sun. They have played over 50 shows and festivals from Khatsalano, Unreal City, Chilliwack Mural Festival, Pleasant Day Festival, and Vancouver Fringe Festival to opening stages for Lena Lovich, Dozer, and Yuuf. As of 2026, The Hausplants are writing and preparing their debut LP and releasing a deluxe version of Into Equilibrium in spring 2026.
