The Barbican Estate is a large, Brutalist residential and arts complex in the City of London, built on a World War II bomb site and completed in 1982, designed by architects Chamberlin, Powell & Bon. It is a "city within a city" with over 2,000 flats for about 4,000 residents, featuring elevated walkways, gardens, a lake, and iconic architecture.

The estate is home to the renowned Barbican Centre, a multi-arts venue, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Barbican Library, and several other institutions
