π€ πͺπππ§ ππ₯π π§ππ βπ§ππ πππππ’π ππππ ππ‘π¦β?βThe Balboa Geek Inβ sessions is a series of intensive learning sessions for proactive intermediate+ and advanced Balboa dancers. The format of the sessions is different to regular dance classes; they are workshop-style sessions which require everyoneβs active participation and input. It is about sharing and discovery, peer-to-peer learning and collaboration.
π« πͺπππ§ π§π’ ππ«π£πππ§, πͺπππ§ π‘π’π§ π§π’ ππ«π£πππ§?
The Balboa Geek In sessions will NOT have a teacher, nor will you be spoon-fed material to practice. At the start of the sessions, a facilitator will run a brainstorming session to find one or multiple topics to work on during the day. The facilitator will also help with practice methods that suit the chosen topics, keep track of time, and assist with people management. But they are also participants, just like everyone else.

The more boxes you tick, the more likely this is for you:
β Youβre a Bal tragic. You just love the dance and geeking out about it for hours is your idea of a good time.
β You are an experienced Balboa dancer who is comfortable dancing at fast and very slow tempos, who is able to dance with flow and improvisation.
β You are very much ready to explore a lot more than the βmove of the weekβ. Topics like creativity, musicality, style and connection excite you.
β You want your dancing to inspire others, so they love the dance as much as you do.
β You want to challenge yourself, get fresh new perspectives on your strengths and weaknesses.
β You want to choose what to work on, with whom, and how.
β You are able to leave your ego outside. You respect your Bal peers and can accept constructive feedback.
β You have ideas, and are generous with sharing them with your peers.
β You want to take your journey onto a fast track by taking your learning into your own hands.
β You thrive in an environment where you can practice and develop together with your Bal peers.
