Enjoy a night of original Kiwi music with The Andrew Healey Band and special guests The Mollymawks and Millie Eaton. Tickets available from Under the Radar, or on the night (Eftpos available).
ANDREW HEALEY
A songwriter from Auckland’s North Shore, Andrew Healey has walked a somewhat eclectic musical path. He started out singing and playing guitar for covers and original bands. Then, for many years, he oscillated between intimate gigs as a solo singer-guitarist and extravagant shows as a crooner for the jazz-swing quartet Standard Deviation.
These days, Andrew focuses his talents on songwriting. So far, he has release the 4-track EP 'Today is a Beautiful Day,' the 11-track album 'Parallel World' as well as several singles. Andrew’s music has also appeared in T.V. and film, and he co-wrote ‘Call me up’, the theme song for a show on Radio Live.
With his five-piece band, Andrew looks forward to performing his original songs as well as some classics from artists who have inspired him over the years.
THE MOLLYMAWKS
The Mollymawks are an acoustic duo from Aotearoa playing original songs and tunes, often with a Celtic flavour. Their music has been played on National Radio, bFM and EastFM.
The duo comprises Alasdair Baxter on vocals, guitar and harmonica, and Emily Allen on fiddle and viola. Al and Emily perform in both the Mollymawks and the band Hoop who host the Ministry of Folk in Mount Eden. Emily Allen also plays in classical quartets and symphony orchestras and studied violin in Oxford with the legendary violinist Kato Havas OBE.
The Mollymawks' songs have themes of love, relationships, humour and politics - all set to enchanting melodies and lovely acoustic arrangements.
MILLIE EATON
Millie is a 20-year-old pop singer-songwriter from Auckland, writing fun, honest songs you can actually relate to. Her latest tracks Bathtub Conversations and Rockerfella Dreams are easy to listen to with catchy hooks and real lyrics. She’s played festivals, headlined her own shows, and just loves sharing her music with others
