About this Event
The Alchemy of Spring Wednesday, April 1st, 2026 at 6:30–8:30pm
As the days lengthen and the first green shoots push through still-cold earth, something in us stirs. We feel it as urgency, as restlessness, as the itch to begin. But how do we channel that rising force with clarity and purpose — rather than scattering it in all directions?
Join Portland-based Alchemical Acupuncturist, Qigong instructor, and Meditation guide Christopher Miller for an evening exploring Spring's profound wisdom through the lens of Taoist philosophy and Chinese Medicine.
Spring belongs to the Wood element — the season of vision, courageous forward motion, and the irrepressible upward drive of new life. Governed by the Liver and Gall Bladder and animated by the Hun spirit (our ethereal soul and life visionary), Spring asks us to break free of Winter's inertia and move intentionally toward our deepest purpose. This workshop offers practical tools to align your body, mind, and spirit with Spring's momentum — and to meet its central invitation with honesty and compassion: face everything, avoid nothing.
You'll experience:
• The Wood element's role in vision, decision-making, and courageous forward motion
• Why Spring affects your sinews, eyes, tendons, and emotional reactivity (and what to do about it)
• Specific foods and practices to support your Liver and move stagnant Qi
• Spring Qigong movements for releasing Winter's residue and awakening Wood energy
• Guided meditation for raising stored potential toward your season's deepest intention
• Journal prompts for Spring contemplation
You'll leave with:
• A Spring nutrition and lifestyle guide
• Morning and evening practices calibrated to Wood element rhythms
• Understanding of how to work with anger and find your path toward benevolence
• Tools for moving forward with clarity, flexibility, and purpose
• Community connection with others seeking seasonal alignment
Perfect for anyone feeling stuck, restless, or ready to move but unsure how — or anyone wanting to understand the wisdom of Spring's courageous, forward-moving energy.
What to bring: Comfortable clothes for gentle movement, journal, and an open mind.
Limited to 30 participants for an intimate experience.
