About this Event
The Breakthrough Process is partnering with 9Others to offer a bespoke one-day group experience for founders looking to gain rapid clarity on the challenges they're facing in their founder journey.
The Breakthrough Process is led by a small team of experts in psychology, creativity, leadership, and strategy with real-world business experience. We combine these elements in curated, deep-level adventures that support participants to explore fresh perspectives, innovate and drive positive change in the world.
This bespoke programme brings founders together with a small, carefully held group of peers who understand shared pressures, offering an opportunity to reflect on your founder identity, the role you occupy, the world you move in and what "success" might really look like.
In an intimate setting, you will step out of the day-to-day and reflect more deeply on your founder experience, offering and receiving support and feedback, and exploring what emerges within the group.
Through honest conversation, structured reflection, and thoughtful challenge, this is a space for you to begin to see yourself more clearly, and the challenges you face from a fresh perspective.

Dr Tom Cotton
Tom is a UKCP-registered Existential-Analytic Psychotherapist and EMCC-accredited Executive Coach (Senior Practitioner) and founder of The Breakthrough Process. Tom works in depth with a wide range of personal and professional challenges, specialising in supporting people in leadership roles.
Tom will co-facilitate the 9others Founders Day with the support of David Miller, a creative strategist and integrative psychotherapist and Alice Mayor, creative entrepreneur and strategic business consultant.

The Breakthrough Process was created in 2018 by Dr Tom Cotton, a psychotherapist and executive coach.
Through years of work with individuals, leaders, and organisations, he recognised a gap. People needed something that went beyond therapy or coaching alone — a process that combined psychological depth with practical clarity and decision-making.
Over time, the approach has evolved and deepened. We have brought together a team of experienced facilitators across psychology, leadership, and strategy. We have worked with hundreds of individuals facing significant life decisions, leadership teams navigating change, and founders building businesses that matter.

Lunch isn’t provided on site, however there are many eateries and shops nearby, or alternatively you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
- What to bring?
Notebooks and pens are provided, but please feel free to bring your own if you wish. We will provide tea, coffee and refreshments throughout the day.
