FAQ's
Q: What does my registration fee support?
A: This event is a fundraiser for Midwest Grows Green's schoolyard restorations at Hyde Park's Ray Elementary School and across the Greater Chicago region. If you want to support this work further or learn more, MGG will host a volunteer event at Ray Elementary on Friday, June 7th. We will also use funds to staff the event and cover the permit, insurance and marketing.
Q: Why can only WMP/WMP or MMP/WMP pairs only register for early-bird of $90 (e.g. $45 per player)?
A: We polled our past attendees in May for a team versus a hat tournament format. Vast majority voted for a hat tournament. Past hat Chicago Ultimate Tournaments have not recruited enough WMPs to adhere to the 4:2 ratio. So we are trying a new format to achieve an equitable ratio, but still not exclude anyone who wants to play. We think offering the early-bird to only pairs with at least one WMP will increase our WMP registration. The general admission fee of $55 will be open to any player. We'll see how this new system works and reassess for next year!
Q: Will lunch be served?
A: Last year’s tournament had a low number of lunch tickets sold, so we decided to not serve lunch this year. There will be a break for players to pick-up lunch or bring their own.
Q: Any tourney swag?
A: Yep! You can purchase a Patagonia goodie bag for $25 that will include a custom tourney disc and other sponsor items.
