The Port Authority Police Emerald Society extends an invitation to all members of the Port Authority Police Department to join us and other proud Irish organizations for the annual march up 5th Avenue as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.The 265th Annual NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Our department will muster on West 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues at 1015 hours as scheduled by the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration Committee.
The Port Authority Police Emerald Society has selected retired FDNY Captain John Atwell as our Honorary Grand Marshal. Alongside his wife Ellen, their three sons and daughter, John Atwell launched an annual fundraiser known as St. Atty’s Day, a tradition rooted in service and giving back that has come to represent the spirit of honoring heroes. For more than two decades, St. Atty’s Day has brought people together in the spirit of generosity, raising over $600,000 for a wide range of charitable organizations and individuals in need, including our own. His works are a reflection of a family whose lives are defined by helping those who help us all. We encourage all to show your thanks and appreciation to this great leader by marching with us while we honor his contributions and generosity.
Uniform of the day will be Class A with white gloves. All those marching should be uniformed members of the Port Authority Police Department or designated guests.
Charter bus service has been arranged on our behalf. The first bus will depart JFK building 254 at 0830 hours, while a second bus will depart EWR West Gate at 0830 hours, followed by JSQ bus platform C at 0900 hours. The buses will return to the facilities following the conclusion of our post parade gathering.
After the parade, all are welcome to join the Port Authority Police Emerald Society at The Tailor Public House located at 505 8th Avenue at 35th St. for a traditional Irish meal. The cost is $80 cash per person, which will include food, drink & commemorative patch. ☘️
