With the theaterplay Third Bank Terceira margem/Derde oever), Carlos Lagoeiro establishes a dialogue with the short story The Third Bank of the River by writer João Guimarães Rosa. Lagoeiro returned to the region where he was born and retraced a journey along the São Francisco River 41 years later. On his first trip, he was six years old. During this experience, the artist collected objects and stories linked to the territory of his childhood. When he arrived in São Paulo, he met Beto Lima, art director of the Pia Fraus company, with whom he collaborated to create the play.
Terceira margem deals with an unreachable place, the fine line between what is established as Normal and Madness.
This third bank separated father and son, but at the same time made them inseparable.
