About this Event
Become a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator

"Feeling connected with others from all over the world over Zoom was highly significant . . . I loved that I walked out of this training feeling confident with the new skills learned to teach PD. I cannot imagine having trainers who were more knowledgeable or more well-prepared to present this program than Kathleen and Teresa were. They were kind, friendly and extremely well-organized! They created a warm and supportive environment!"

About This Workshop:

Positive Discipline parenting tools teach valuable social and life skills that set children up to thrive socially, emotionally and academically and grow into confident capable adults.

Research has demonstrated the importance of social-emotional intelligence as a foundation for learning. Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way (developed by Lynn Lott & Jane Nelsen) is a research-based parent education program that provides a step-by-step approach to starting and leading experiential parenting groups. This program stands alone or offers significant enhancement to any program. It provides experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change.

Participants will:

Learn research based effective tools and techniques for teaching parents how to use discipline that is kind and firm at the same time (non-punitive, non-permissive) and creates connection before correction, is empowering and encouraging to children and keeps the joy in parenting.

Learn how to facilitate a parent class from the position of a non-expert.

Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding to be able to respond in empowering ways that teach children.

Learn how to use materials and activities in group settings, parenting classes and individual work with families.

Receive materials adaptable for use with all ages in many settings: home, work, community, and school.

I really found the session beneficial. I was wondering if the online training would be impactful, and I was positively surprised . . . Every session was 2 hours length, but it always felt as if it was 5 min only.
