Every sketch is set in a hospital! Taxi Cab Comedy brings their unique blend of irreverent but relatable sketch comedy to Caveat!
About this Event

Taxi Cab Comedy brings their unique blend of irreverent but relatable “Taxi Cab Comedy” is an NYC based sketch comedy team that puts on sketch comedy shows inspired by a single location. In “Taxi Cab Comedy Takes You to the Hospital”, all sketches are set in a hospital.
Hospitals are a sacred place where lives are saved and lost, a place where underslept residents make inappropriate remarks to underpaid nurses, where Dr. Houses and McSteamies alike roam free, and where you cry in the waiting room while on hold with your insurance company. You'll see it all onstage at Caveat, but we suggest you take the subway to get there. It's much cheaper than an ambulance.

Bios:

Douglas Lisk: Douglas Lisk is a seasoned comedy writer and performer based in New York City. His professional comedy journey began in Nashville with the group LOL Nashville, now known as Third Coast Comedy. After relocating to New York, Douglas honed his skills through advanced improv training at UCB, applying his expertise to various independent sketch and improv teams before founding Taxi Cab Comedy. In addition to performing, Douglas wears multiple hats as the director, producer, and head writer for Taxi Cab Comedy. If you can think of any additional titles to boost his already overinflated ego, please let him know.

Marina Mulholland: Marina Mulholland began her comedy journey right here in Taxi Cab Comedy! She says she did stand up when she first moved to NYC in 2019 but there’s no evidence of that ever happening so you’ll just have to believe her. She was scouted by the founder for “being the funniest person he’s ever met”. Marina both performs and writes for Taxi Cab Comedy and can be found all around the city yucking it up with friends and foes.

James Johnston: James Johnston is a Brooklyn based actor and writer who has previously been seen onstage in New York at FringeNYC, American Theater for Actors, The Brick, and Theater for the New City. He was also a member of Actor Theater of Louisville’s highly selective Professional Training Company for its 2020-2021 season. Past training includes NYU, Stella Adler Studio of Acting, RADA and UCB. @jimjamjohnston

Daniel King: Dan King is an actor/writer/comedian based in Brooklyn, New York. He's performed all across the country and has appeared at the Sno-Jam Comedy Festival, NYC Sketchfest, and at the Del Close Marathon. When Dan isn't performing he enjoys flying his kite and walking his dog, Zelda.

Joanna Pinto: Joanna Pinto is an actor/writer/producer based in New York City and has a BA in Theatre from CUA. Joanna made her Off-Broadway debut as Georgie in “Spike Heels” by Theresa Rebeck and has been featured several times on Investigation Discovery. She also toured the tri-state area performing for children of all ages in "My Mother The Astronaut" with the Traveling Lantern Theatre Company. Having had an awakening as a comedic weirdo while auditioning for The Blue Man Group, Joanna is thrilled to be the newest member of Taxi Cab Comedy. She is very excited to express her crazy self. Past training includes HB Studio, Stella Adler, RADA, and The PIT. @jkepinto
